Stolen Library Book Leads To Shooting?

Associated Press January 9, 2007

Police say a security guard at the Anderson County Library fired his gun at a car after the driver triggered a security alarm.

Police say security guard James Turner asked the woman to stop after the alarm went off as she left around 5 o'clock Saturday afternoon.

A police report states Turner chased the woman as she ran to her car and he said the bumper brushed his knee as she pulled away.

Police say the guard then fired into the driver's door. Authorities say the woman kept going and they don't know if she was hurt.

Library director Carl Stone says he's asked Cherokee Security Systems not to send Turner back to the library. Stone says no one should be hurt over a missing library book.

Perhaps if Deputy Fife had actually read a book instead of playing continuous games of Grand Theft Auto in his mother's basement...?? We were unable to reach him for comment as he was busy polishing his bullet.

It's a good thing that Turner didn't work at the elementary school Bush visited on 9/11/2001. Losing a president, even that one, over a stolen copy of "My Pet Goat" would be embarrassing.

By now, Turner has probably been hired by the CIA for Gitmo. :-(

I'd just like to know when libraries started implementing the use of lethal force???

Actually, I heard Turner was hired to go hunting with Deadeye...

oh.my.god.
what's with this guy's priorities?

was he at least arrested for unlowful discharge of a firearm or something?

Women, that's a bad idea. Unlike Deadeye Dick, Turner might hit what he was shooting at. ;-)

Hi two crows-

The article didn't say anything other than he was asked not to return to the library... he's probably been reassigned to do nursery school take-downs...

yes, that would fit.

a few years ago a client's daughter and her boyfriend were arguing in an i-hop. the guard told them to leave. when the bf didn't leave fast enough to suit him, the guard opened fire and the boyfriend ended up in the hospital.
the guard was suspended-with-pay for 4 days.

I don't go to i-hop anymore.

OMG... I've always said that eating at I-HOP was risky business ... especially if you order the steak!

I wonder if it was Barney's brother???
